Cyndi Petti Cleary was born and raised in San Francisco, CA. She grew up in a real estate family, and began working for her grandparents at the age of eight in their real estate office. In the late ‘70s, she worked for Bank of America in San Francisco, as an escrow officer. Cyndi received a degree in theology. While attending college she had the opportunity to manage a 500 plus acre church ranch and resort in Colorado.
Nashville, Tennessee became her home after college, where she received her Real Estate license in 1986. An apartment complex she was managing went through a condo conversion, which she supervised. Cyndi also assisted in the marketing and sold 25 of the condos. Her next position involved working with developers in the construction management and lease up of over 2,000 class A apartment units.
In 1994, she moved to Oklahoma City. Cyndi says that this is when the world opened up to her. She received her Oklahoma Real Estate license. Her first position in Oklahoma City was the management of residential duplexes, condos, a mobile home park and an apartment complex. During 1995, she began working for Mutual of New York. She managed and leased a commercial building and an office warehouse complex. While working for Mutual of NY, Cyndi received her Real Estate Brokers license.
In 1998, Waterford Properties L.L.C. hired Cyndi as property manager and leasing broker for the Waterford Office complex. In 2001, Waterford Properties II, L.L.C. purchased the empty Fleming building a 6301 Waterford Blvd. It was the only building that Waterford Properties did not own in the complex. Cyndi performed due diligence on the 147,000 SF transaction. The deal was closed on February 1, 2001. Cyndi leased 100% of the building within a short period of time. The building has undergone major renovations and transformation into a class A multi tenant building, which Cyndi supervised as the construction manager.
Cyndi is past president and Board member for the Building Owners & Managers Association (BOMA). She is also the past president for the Commercial Real Estate Council (CREC), an active member Oklahoma City Metropolitan Association of Realtors, and a member of the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM). Cyndi is an Accredited Resident Manager (ARM) and has her Real Property Administration (RPA) designation. The 2010 Chair Elect for the Oklahoma City Metropolitan Association of Realtors, Commercial Division: “Realtors Commercial Alliance”
Cyndi is among the first women selected as members in the Committee of One Hundred. She served on the Executive Board for EWI (Executive Women International), is currently a Board of Advisor for The Greater Oklahoma City Chamber of Commerce and Red Bud Classic. She is a member of the State Chamber of Commerce. Cyndi has participated in the Citizens Academy with the Oklahoma City Fire Department and in the Citizens Academy for the FBI in Spring of 2005. She was also awarded the Peoples Choice award for Mrs. Oklahoma International 2002.
