OKCMAR Committees - The driving force behind the Association...

OKCMAR is a member-driven organization with ideas, products, services programming and strategic planning all stemming from its committees. Committee sign up for the following year is released each October 1st for the following year. The following are the 2011 committees and their members.

Awards Committee
This committee is comprised of the last 7 REALTORS® of the Year and two members at large appointed by the President. This committee recommends award recipients to the Board of Directors.

Bylaws
This committee meets annually to review the OKCMAR bylaws for NAR compliance, recommends any optional changes proposed by NAR and ensures NAR certification has been received.

Contracts & Forms
This commitee meets twice per year to review proposed OREC changes to forms and reviews current OKCMAR forms for any required or necessary changes.

Education
This committee meets quarterly and has a  meeting attendance requirement. It suggests and/or writes applicable CE courses, its develops a roster of volunteer educators approved by OREC, suggests other education to be offered throughout the year, raises money for and approves scholarships for member education and for family members of REALTORS seeking a 2-4 year degree through an accredited college or university.

Executive Committee
This committee is comprised of the Board President, Past President, President-Elect, Secretary-Treasurer, Vice-President, MLS President, and RCA Chair-Elect. This committee reviews all policies of the Board and recommends any changes or deletions. This committee also reviews all committee reports for inclusion on the Board agenda.

Finance Committee
This committee is comprised of the current treasurers of OKCMAR, MLS, RCA, ARCS & the OKCMAR Past-Treasurer, Corporation Counsel, Board CPA, OKCMAR President-Elect, and two members at large with accounting/finance experience appointed by the President. This committee meets 2-3 times a year and reviews fiscal policies and in conjunction with staff produces an annual budget. This committee ensures that an audit is done annually.

Generation Next Network
Generation Next Network is a means for REALTORS interested in sharing, utilizing and leveraging new technologies as part of their business models. This committee is for novices and experts alike, new and seasoned in the business, young and older. Bloggers, techies, rookies and twitterers are all welcome!

Green Resource Council
The Green Resource Council develops ideas and programming for green REALTOR activity (such as highway clean-up), promotes the NAR GREEN Designation and looks for means in ensuring the Association is operating in an environmentally sustainable manner.

Grievance
A required committee by NAR, this committee reviews ethics and arbitration complaints filed with the board to determine if they are appropriate for a hearing. Committee members must participate in one of two PS training courses offered by the Board or OAR prior to sitting in on a hearing at least bi-annually.

Legislative
This Committee meets quarterly to set the legislative agenda for the year, review requests for campaign contributions, interviews candidates & determines the fair-share monies distribution. This committee consists of 5 trustees appointed by the board (Trustees must be $99 and up RPAC Givers) and also has a subcommittee: RPAC. The RPAC committee members must have made at least a $35 fair share contribution to RPAC and are tasked with soliciting donations for RPAC.

Membership
This committee is comprised of all OKCMAR committee chairs and assists in developing and working the annual conference events, suggests policies to the executive committee arising out of committee work. Attendance at the OKCMAR events is a requirement of this committee.

Nominating Committee
This committee meets once annually to determine the nomination slate for OKCMAR Board of Directors and the Leadership Tomorrow program.

Professional Standards Committee
This committee meets as needed to hear ethics and arbitration cases
. Committee members must participate in one of two PS training courses offered by the board prior to sitting in on a hearing at  least bi-annually. Committee members must have served at least one year on the Grievance Committee.

MLSOK
The MLSOK is a broker cooperative wholly owned subsidiary corporation to volunteer to serve on its Research & Development (R&D) Advisory Group please visit the MLS member only site by clicking the MLS icon below
