The applicant criteria section of NAR’s Leadership Academy page states, “REALTOR® members with demonstrated leadership abilities, and who are passionate about the industry and the issues, are encouraged to apply”. It is no surprise, then, that OKCMAR’s 2019 president was noticed by the advisory group responsible for selecting participants of the elite program! Following an interview process that took place during the Legislative Conference in Washington DC, Becky Karpe has become the first of our association’s leaders to be accepted to the NAR Leadership Academy. The program gives participants the opportunity to develop and enhance their leadership skills and competencies over an 11-month period consisting of eight sessions.

My focus will always be serving my clients in Oklahoma City, but this opportunity will let me learn new skills and help Realtors across the country continue to effectively represent property owners, whether they are in the middle of a transaction or fighting for a stable business environment.
