New NAR MLS Policy: Delayed Marketing Option

The National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) has introduced a new policy for MLSs to complement the existing Clear Cooperation Policy (CCP). This policy allows MLSs to set a delay period during which sellers and their agents can keep their properties from being marketed publicly through IDX or syndication.

Delayed Marketing option, allows MLSs to set a delay period during which sellers and their agents can choose to withhold public marketing of their property via IDX or syndication.

MLSOK is adopting this policy and implementing corresponding updates to our system configurations and rules. During the delay period, a Delayed Marketing Listing must still be filed with MLSOK and will be disseminated to other MLS Participants and Subscribers within our system. While the listing will not be publicly displayed via IDX feeds or syndicated to third-party platforms, the listing broker may continue to market the property in a manner consistent with the seller’s instructions.

MLSOK users will have the option to delay the marketing of a Residential listing for up to 365 days.

The “Delayed Marketing Yes/No” field will be located under the “Showing Information” section in the listing input form and will be available only for Residential properties.
