The State of Oklahoma has 2,107 flood control dams across the state that restrict the building of structures and certain uses in and around these structures. With more people wanting to build in the country next to water bodies, the state is seeing an increatse in easement violations in and around these structures. Learn why we have these structures, how they work, how to identify a structure, how to learn about the easement and its restrictions, who to contact to learn more, and what information should be shared with potential buyers and developers.
