The Annual OAR Capitol Conference will go virtual on March 30th and again for town hall meetings with local legislators on March 31st and April 1st. OKCMAR members are being asked to participate to help shape policies that impacts the profession, real estate industry and property rights in Oklahoma.  Over the 3 days members will:

  • Discuss policy and legislation which may impact property rights or the real estate industry
  • Have conversations with members of the legislature
  • Engage with REALTORS® from across the state

Because there is more influence in numbers, a call has been made to all members to attend.  OAR President Axay Parekh has challenged Oklahoma REALTORS® to respond with 500 of them attending the conference. As part of the challenge, he will take a pie to the face if the goal is reached.

OKCMAR Government Affairs Chair Glen Cosper responding to the challenge said, “OKCMAR members, let’s turn out and show our support for the profession and make sure Axay gets some pie. We would also ask you to tune in virtually when we hear from our local legislators on Wednesday, April 1st from 2pm to 2:45pm.”

Day 1 (March 30th) will feature the traditional content from Capitol Conference in a virtual format, including insights from key legislative leaders, an address from State leaders, important information from OREC, and an engaging, insightful keynote which promises to leave you both entertained and educated.

Days 2 and 3 will be the virtual version of our REALTOR® Day at the Capitol, where we engage in conversations with your elected Representatives and Senators at the State Capitol. This will be a key time for you to hear from them and share with them our priorities for the year. You are invited to attend all of the Town Hall sessions, but because of the virtual nature, we are scheduling these meetings to feature Legislators from areas of the state that correspond to OAR districts. OKCMAR is in District 5.
