The 2018 OKCMAR Foundation gala, Cirque du REALTOR®, will be held on Wednesday, April 18th at Embassy Suites OKC Downtown. Be the Change was an honoree in the 2017 gala. Since then, the organization has experienced quite a change!
Be the Change Executive Director Jonathan Roberts said, “Our plan to open a large resource center for runaway and homeless youth is now a reality thanks to the support from OKCMAR and other amazing organizations.” The facility, located in South OKC, houses a youth emergency shelter – the only one of its kind in Oklahoma City.
The organization continues to provide hot meals, showers, laundry facilities, recreation and leisure activities to disadvantaged youth. They also work with 14 partner agencies from across the metro to provide housing, education and employment services. Physical and mental health assessments are provided on-site. The project is an outstanding addition to services for marginalized youth in Oklahoma City and has unparalleled support from the community. Roberts added, “OKCMAR Foundation was key to the success of this program.”
