Because this year’s NAR Legislative Meetings in DC were canceled due to the Coronavirus, OAR has responded by coordinating virtual town hall meetings to do what we were not able to do in May. Throughout the month of August, OAR will be hosting virtual town hall meetings with our Federal Delegation in DC! These virtual meetings will be an excellent opportunity for REALTORS®️ to interact with our federal Representatives and Senators.

OKCMAR is encouraging our members to take advantage of this great opportunity to hear and show that REALTORS®️ understand the importance of being informed and hearing from our elected officials. All town hall meetings will be conducted via Zoom and registration is required. Once you have registered, login information will be sent to you closer to the time of the meeting. Participants will also be able to submit questions.

Federal Political Coordinator Carolyn Sims has worked with Congressman Horn in regards to, among other issues, forbearance and its effects on homeowners. Sims said, “The virtual town hall meetings provide REALTORS® who have never attended NAR’s midyear conference to see what is usually done and the discussions we normally have with our congressmen and legislatures when we’re in DC.”
